GRACE BESTOWED

An Easter poem

Though some may never understand
the penalty man has incurred.
Because rebellion is in all,
God’s image in man now is blurred.

We walk in death, apart from Him
because our lives are stained with sin
of pride and lack of gratitude,
and so we worship us, not Him.

But now my lips cry out in praise
for the Lamb who died for me,
that God could cast my sin away
and give me life eternally.

One day I’ll see God’s face because
His wrath on Jesus He had poured
and not on me; He gave me grace,
and I will serve Him evermore.
