God gives grace to us and and as it blossoms in our hearts we know him better.
BLOSSOM IN OUR HEARTS
Blossom in our hearts
the grace that you’ve bestowed
the grace that set us free
the grace that to us flows
Blossom in our hearts
the love that sent your Son
the love that draws us near
the love that said “it’s done”
Blossom in our hearts
the fragrance that shows you
the fragrance that says life
the fragrance that speaks truth.

IT WAS NOT ME
This is my story about God and me. I didn’t make the first move; he did. And he has given me life that will not end. I praise his name.
IT WAS NOT ME
It was not me who called on God,
when I was in death's land.
But it was God who called on me--
grace extended from his hand.
It was not me who called on God
when I was in death's way.
But it was God who called on me
and pulled me in the day.
It was not me who called on God
to bring me into light.
But it was God who called on me
and gave to me true sight.

JUDAH
As I enter January, I think about my grandson Judah who ended his life on January 23, 2022. He was far too young; he would turn 19 that year. Even when someone seems whole and involved with God, there are times the darkness gets too heavy. I pray that no one feels there is no hope as they think this course would be better. I miss that young man, but I know his mama and daddy and his siblings miss him more. And I know that God brings comfort to our hearts as he catches our tears and mingles them with his own.
WHEN DID YOU DRY JUDAH’S TEARS
When did You dry Judah’s tears?
When he first looked in Your face?
When he felt Your warm, calm arms
When he felt Your mercy, grace?
When did You dry Judah’s tears?
When he knew there were no chains,
earth’s enticements now were gone?
Was that when you healed his pain?
When did You dry Judah’s tears?
Before the joy You had for him?
When he knew earth’s arms were loosed?
Gone was bondage to all sin?
Come and dry our tears of grief
from these pain that wounds our hearts
to Your joy because we know
Judah now lives in Your heart.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
MESSIAH HAS COME! LIFT UP YOUR HEADS! Messiah has come! Lift up your heads! The fullness of time has arrived and the grace of God is revealed for all of mankind. His arms are wide open to give His embrace. Messiah has come! Lift up your heads! The angels deliver the message of peace for God has sent Jesus from heaven to earth to deliver from death--its power will cease. Messiah has come! Lift up your heads! True life has come for people on earth The promise is given for those who will seek. Messiah has promised for each a new birth. Messiah has come! Lift up your heads! One day we will stand in his presence in heaven, free from life's sorrows and sickness and pain, free from the hold of sin's old nature's leaven. Messiah has come! Lift up your heads! Let rejoicing begin and our praises ring out, for Jesus has come to show us God's love. Messiah has come! Of this we will shout. (2021)
I am back
I haven’t been on my blog for awhile. Too many things interferred! But I am going to try again and do some posting. I have missed it. To start the process, here is a Thanksgiving poem, late for Thanksgiving Day, but never too late for life!
BLOOMING FLOWER. Like a flower blooming in arid place, thanks will turn the desert into a land of grace. (2019)
This Child of Grace
THIS CHILD OF GRACE
This Child of Grace of Christmas fame
was sent to us who fail at life,
who struggle to find peace and hope,
but spend our lives in sin and strife.
This Child of Grace, one sent from God
for love of men who do not know
that through His grace this Child gives hope,
that life with peace from Him could grow.
This Child of Grace, the perfect One,
this Child of Grace, the worthy One,
who left His throne in heaven above—
this Child of Grace, God’s only Son.
